You always want to have quality over quantity. This is a little gem of wisdom that most people would certainly agree with, especially when it comes to marketing material. You need a lot of it, but you’ll likely hear that this doesn’t mean you should sacrifice the quality of the work by trying to get too much for your money. When it comes to wholesale printing this is nothing but a myth with no merit left to it. Perhaps at one point in time when printing technology wasn’t quite what it is today, this might’ve been something to take to heart, but these days you can have both quantity and quality at the same time. In order to understand how you can maintain that quality it’s best to know at least a little bit about what goes into wholesale printing, and why you can save so much money while doing it. First, a wholesaler is naturally going to have cheaper costs because they’re selling in bulk. Anything sold in bulk naturally drives down the overall costs. Think about the recent boom in stores like Cosco and Sam’s Club as a prime example of this. By selling in bulk they can greatly drive down the cost of the individual item. But let’s take a more in-depth look at what goes into the wholesale printing process. There are two primary ways that the printing works: offset printing and gang running. Offset printing involves taking your basic printing plates and running them through several rollers as many times as needed to quickly and effectively produce a mass amount of high quality prints. Because of the way it stamps in the ink into the paper you get a great finished product, and because you can run the plates through quickly and as many times as you need you can churn out a large number of copies in a short period of time. Gang running involves making your plates more complicated, and often having multiple types of ad layouts and designs on a single plate. If you need to have several different kinds of advertisements printed this will be the best method for you. Similar to the offset printing, the quality isn’t compromised at all. The largest cost in printing is derived from the production of the initial plates for the printing. The cost per ad printed isn’t nearly as expensive, and if you have a large enough order done, the cost keeps going down per additional copies. What you end up with is a large quantity of advertisements with the same level of quality you would expect from a smaller order. You’re getting better savings without any penalty to the look or feel of your advertisements. How could any company pass up a deal like that?
