When it comes to self-defense there are mixed feelings as to which is the best way to protect ourselves from any possible danger. The Scoville scale places the hottest Chile, the habanero, at 300,000 units, while a pepper sprays is somewhere between 2,000,000 and 5,000,000 units. Once it is used against a person or an animal it acts as an inflammatory agent that when in contact with the nose, eyes, lungs and other parts of the persons body it causes immediate capillary dilation. Since the pepper spray is so handy for women to use and carry in a purse, and is non-lethal, it can be acquired easily and safely in most of the US. However, some states such as Massachusetts do required a legal firearms ID.
